Reaching your potential always starts with you...

If you're reading this, that means it was meant for you. God's word says life and death are in the power of the tongue so here I am speaking life into you.

Soooo let me tell yall about my week. I got to go back home and visit my family. For me home is Nassau, Bahamas and I absolutely loved it. I loved it not for the beauty of the island but for the first time in over a decade I finally got to see and PROCESS where I came from. I finally got to see some of the reasons why I am the way I am and why I have the heart that I do. In the few short days that I was there I got a better grasp and more clarity on my WHY. I came from a place where life is hard. My family members are sick or dead because of the choices they made in their youth, the standards are low, and the opportunities are few. The struggle is real and the money is tight. Little black boys and girls are forced to grow up with poverty all around them and they see nothing else but lack day in & day out.

Coming back home as a 27-year-old living in the suburbs of VA for the majority of my life gave me a newfound gratefulness and appreciation for how my life turned out. It also made me realize this: YOUR TIME IS YOUR BIGGEST ASSET. How you spend your time, what you do in the 24 hours you are given shapes who you ultimately become. But here's the kicker... what you are exposed too especially in the younger days of your life heavily influence how you use your time. This brings me to the point of this blog. Your potential and how far you go in this life is 100% up to you. Yes, there is a lot of obstacles in life but listen to me... You have the control and the ability to change your life RIGHT NOW.

Really be honest with yourself. How are you spending your time? How much TV are you watching? How much books are you reading? How much social media content are you consuming? What are you constantly thinking about? What do you find yourself doing the most of? Are they things that build the person you want to be or things that create more and more distance from your ideal self? I spend my time differently than the people in the Bahamas because I was blessed enough to have a father that exposed me too different. He took me off the island and brought me to the states. I am not better than anyone I just simply got exposed to more and therefore made a decision to use my time differently because I am now aware of the opportunities that come with using your time wisely.

As I leave you today, I want you to think about how blessed you are to have time to change. You are in control of more than you think. Don't waste what you have, leverage your time because that is something you can never get back. I can't wait to see all that you become! With Love,

Jas.
